Meercat Workboats

Via our sister company Meercat Workboats, we design and build conventional and road transportable workboats for port authorities and harbour operators, marine contractors, charter companies, dive operators and fish farms. We also arrange competitive finance for all the vessels within our product range.

Our team are knowledgeable and experienced in marine workboat operation and work with our clients to produce the perfect vessel for their needs. We are proud of our successful track record and long list of satisfied Meercat Owners. Our versatile single and multi-hulled workboats have been sold around the world. The road transportable version offers an effective solution to the problems of fast access and mobilisation to difficult locations often far from the coast.

Our new, modern, large and well equipped workshops have direct access to the water and an on-site ship lift. We offer an in-house design facility and all of our welders are fully qualified and trained. Other facilities include; 2 x 15 tonne gantry cranes, 14m x 4m plasma cutting table, Aluminium welding bay and Machine shop.

It’s in the name. In the early days of the first boat we built a call of ‘Coffee Break’ resulted in four heads popping up out of deck hatches just like African Meerkats, and the name was born; we have both an unrivalled track record and level of workboat experience, and we reside in the only purpose built shipyard in Southampton.

Customisation Options. No two Meercats are ever the same, we work with our clients to design the exact deck layout and decide on equipment options that work best for them. We’ve build over thirty workboats now so our knowledge of configuration options and possibilities is vast, let us know what you need and we’ll provide you with a solution that works.

Build time. Depending on the size and specification of workboat, the build time can take from 3 months for a 14m to 5 months for an 18m. Larger bespoke projects will take a little longer, with the build time being determined by the complexity of specification.

Other Vessels

Although we concentrate on our Meercats as a product, we can build many other types of vessel in either steel or aluminium, and have a proven track record of building a variety of wind farm support craft, landing craft and even luxury high specification house boats. As with the Meercat workboat, our wind farm support craft and house boats are fully customisable and can be built in accordance with your requirements.

Located at our new well equipped facility in Hythe, Southampton, we are passionate about workboats and making your job on the water easier and safer.

Our staff are knowledgeable and experienced in marine workboat operation and construction and work with our clients to produce the perfect vessel for their needs. We are proud of our successful track record and long list of satisfied Meercat owners, several of which are on their second or third vessels - what better endorsement could we ask for?
